My fellowlog readers, I wish to thank you for visiting my blog daily. Indeed it has been fun sharing my life, my thoughts and my weirdest thoughts with you all..

As such, I would like to announce that from today onwards, I will not be xangaing anymore. Yes, I have fallen prey too to the deceptions of blogspot and I have made the switch there. I hope you all will still come visit me at  my new blog site

I hope to see all of you visiting me at my new blog.

What a long winded message just to say that I've changed blog. Must be the female side of me.

I was trying to do some minor editing to my Xanga's look and feel yesterday and accidently clicked the "revert to default" button instead of "save changes button".. so thought what the heck, may as well have a new colour scheme. Decided to go for a more pleasant and easy on the eye looking colour scheme. Sign of old age showing... everything pleasant, not sharp and contrasting. I remember when I was younger (about 18-20 like that), I use to wear dark coloured shirts with mega bright looking tie. I remember I have this tie that's really super jeng, neon colours to be exact.. the only person that I know that likes that tie is Joann Saw. I loved that tie so much, it was like my identity. I was wore it to office onece (when I was still working in BCB), everyone was like "Mark..!!! apa tu??!!!" and I looked in the mirror and I agreed with them "Apa tu??!!!"... yeah that was about 2 years ago and since than I realised that my dressing has changed from loud to very soft colours... or maybe just not so loud... yup.. like I said sign of old age....

On another note, I think I need to revamp my wardrobe, have not done that since don't know when... my office clothes seriously needs a revamp. I'm still wearing shirts from my APIIT days... those colours are really out man. Guess it's time to sell one guitar to finance my wardrobe revamp. Anybody wants to go shopping with me?

I drove my dad's car to work on tuesday because he is away with mom in Cape Town enjoying the cool air and his car needs a warm up, so I being the good son warmed up his car by driving it to office. Hey.. it's not everyday you get to drive a Volvo to work okay.. alright it may not be a S60 of XC90, but it's still a freaking Volvo... yeah anyway... drove it to work and reversed the car straight into my boss' 3 months old Toyota Vios because I forgot there's no reverse sensor in my dad's car. Me being so used to a reverse sensor didn't hear no sound and backed in straight to my boss' car. Thank God no serious damage just a cracked number plate.

Anyway today, I thought I warm up my mom's car.. so drove the Kelisa to work and again I backed into my boss' car... again I forgot no reverse sensor... this is bad!!! I think I was too sleepy.. not enough sleep from the euro matches... embarassing... at least reverse a volvo into the car I can say big car not used to it... now what can I say.. small car not used to it??? shy lar..

Played bass for prayer meeting last night. Played bad man!!! So long never play for praise and worship already, found it a bit hard to get into the feel of worship, feeling rusty..!! Too much her reverie stuff already..

Talking about her reverie.. worked on some new stuff last tuesday.. man arrangements for the new songs are crazy man thanks to dear Justin and Keng Lee. Their song arrangements are like all out to kill the drummer and bassist.. I don't know what they have against drummer and bassist. Poor Simon and me.

Anyway, lunch time... woo hoo!!!

England playing the Swiz tonight... it's do or die for England and I hope they win.

How to Loose a Guy in more than 10 Ways – the mark tan version

1.      Tell him all your deep personal problems in the first meeting… make sure you add in words like suicide and depression. It helps.

2.      After knowing the guy for just 3 days, call him 7 times a day to tell him more personal problems. This time round add in things like “I just ate 40 panadols!!”, “I feel like jumping down the window NOW!!!”.

3.      After knowing the guy for just 3 days, call him every time you feel just a little tiny winy bit down. Make sure you start off with “Mmmaaarrrkkk!!!! I feel down again”. Calls maybe an average of 10 a day??

4.      Call the guy up at 11:30pm and ask him to do a stupid favour like “can you please come my place NOW!!! and loan me RM500??”

5.      After knowing the guy for just 2 week, ask him to update his life to you daily including when he goes on a 3 days holiday and ask him to call you or sms you at least once a day even if it means you’re in Singapore, India,

6.      Tell the guy that he is always busy serving in church and doing church work is not worth it.

7.      Tell the guy that he is always busy with his music, gigs, recording and band practices and that they are a waste of time. (esp when you the guy for less than one week)

8.      Tell the guy that footie is a waste of time and that he should give it up and go out dinner with you.

9.      Wake the guy up at 8am on a Saturday just to say good morning…. For pete sake, Saturdays are sleep in days.

10.  Tell the guy of your plans on how you want to make the world a perfect place.

11.  Be very “deh” with the guy!!!! .. okay lar this doesn’t apply to all guys as some guys loves girls who are extreme “deh”. So this might or might not work.

12.  Cling to the guy like there no other guy in the world. Tell him that you are so insecure without a boyfriend.

13.  When going out on a date with the guy, do something stupid and crazy like go up to a stranger and wave into his face and say “I know you don’t know me, but I hope you have a nice day”.

** the above is totally ignored if the girl is Kristin Kreuk.

I watched “How to loose a guy in 10 days” on Friday night so it kind of inspired to write out my own version of “How to loose a guy”. But it is my version so it may differ from guy to guy but I believe most guys have the same sentiment as me. Than again people have said that I’m fussy and weird and I get freaked out by girls very easily, so maybe we should just keep it to Mark Tan’s version of how to loose a guy in more than 10 ways. Maybe a girl should come out with their own “How to loose a girl in more than 10 ways”. Why get someone of the opposite sex to write something like that when it’s better to get the same gender to write out topics like the above. I can’t understand why Her World, Cleo all this ladies magazines have women journalist to write out this kind of topics. At least FHM, Men’s Health has female journalist.

Anyway, I just thought I write my thoughts out for the fun of it but it is my personal views and honest opinions. Well, the above topic aside, it was good to just stay at home and watch a movie over dinner. I’ve not done that in ages and I must say that it was so nice and so relaxing. I’ve spent almost a total of RM100 of DVDs this whole weekend. Finally caught up with all those movies that I’ve always wanted to watch like “finding nemo”, 2 fast 2 furious”, “intolerable cruelty”… yes yes my weekend was almost like a movie marathon weekend. But like I said, it’s something that I’ve wanted to do for so long.

Here’s a short summary of my Friday night and my weekend.

Friday – 11/06/04

Went home early.. at about 4:30pm and got a hair cut. It’s always nice to see my hair stylist Ling. She told me about her whole holiday in Melbourne. Made me wish I could go on a holiday too….!!! Maybe a holiday with her??? Hehehe….

I wanted to go CG visitation, something I’ve not done in a while, but was feeling very tired and under the weather so thought I stay home and just chill out. That’s when I thought I finally make full use of my DVD player which hasn’t played a single DVD for the last 6 months since it was purchased.

Awesome, being alone with some dinner and a bottle of wine watching a nice romantic comedy movie; yes, guys do watch lovey dovey movies too when they’re alone. I really do hope I can do it again soon.

Saturday – 12/06/04

Woke up early, woo..hoo…had my dad’s car to drive around for the weekend. Well, both my parents are still in South Africa and my dad did tell me to warm up his car. So that’s what I did. Also there’s something wrong with my car too lar…

Had to pop into office to get somethings sorted out before heading to church for college leaders meeting chair by uncle Hock.

Had band practice at 3pm before heading to Bukit Jalil for the Inter Accountability Group futsal challenge. Hehehehe… My team won. We lost the first game 4-1 to hock’s group. After some scolding and reprimand by our dear Isaac Yap, man we played more like there’s no end after that. We met Hock’s group in the finals and managed to beat them 5-3. Hero for the final was non-other than our foreign import Chris Chan.

Special thanks to Judah for organizing this tournament for us. Your efforts didn’t go to waste, we had lots of fun.

Straight from futsal it was on to Laren & Saw Gaik’s place for dinner. She cooked us Nasi Lemak. Fantastic man!!! Always loved her cooking…. She said she’s making spaghetti next Sat, I think I will gate crash it…!!!

Went to office after dinner to collect MPO tickets to Ps. Guy and it was straight home to watch Portugal loose to Greece. Can’t believe that they lost lar.

Sunday – 13/06/04

I thought Terry did a good job for worship. CG teaching was good. Two thumbs up esp. for Cherrie for teaching so well in her CG. Serena asked me and Hock to look after her but she seems to be doing quite well without us.

Had lunch with IZ, Isabel, Ginelle, Esther, Rachel and her sister, Sue Ann, Cherrie, Jon Yap, Chris Chan and Alvin Lai. We related old time IBNOT stories and old time church van deep darkest incident stories.

Went home and slept for like 3 hours. Walked over to my parent’s place so I could take my mom’s car for a spin to warm it up. Wanted to meet up with my sis for dinner but she went for third and wanted to eat on her own. So it was off to the DVD shop again to pick out a dvd for dinner. Picked out “2 fast 2 furious” and “Intolerable Cruelty”. Never thought I could have another dvd dinner again so fast. But this time round it felt a bit lonely lar… it’s like kinda wished someone was with me like that… so that means dvd dinners cannot be too often and too close to the last one… hhhmmm… new theory formed.

Went to bed a bit early so to wake up for England-France which was not worth my waking up at all!!!!! WHAT THE HECK!!!! 2 goals in Injury time???!!!!!!! Beckside missed a penalty and one superb chance!!!! Hai yoh!!!!! But still got hope win the next 2 matches and make it to the knock out!!!

It’s lunch time…. Hope it wasn’t too long an entry that bored your brains out…!!! I wish everyone a god week..!!!

Friday, June 11, 2004

It's a Friday already!!! Hoo Ray!!! First weekend to look forward to without having to worry about The Edge. Actually, still accounts to close lar.... so maybe still have worries.

Was very down yesterday. Got bang by my lady boss on some issues and it made me quite upset because as far as I'm concern, I've reach all expectations. Anyway, had a talk with her this morning in the office and praise God we managed to clear the air. Basically she said that I have reach all expectations but she wants me to go that next level. Kind of like our Christian walk, where Christ wants us to always strive to go to that next level. I guess God wants us to go that next level in all aspect, in YC, music and for me my work. I would like to say thanks to Sue Ann and Sook for cheering me up yesterday. So this blog is for the both of you.

Yesterday, Hobs walks holding a puncher in his hand and ask my MD "How do you use this?". I couldn't believe my ears, the bird brain doesn't even know how to use a puncher??!!! no wonder his brain size is smaller than a bird.

A group of us were quite cis off with our MD too yesterday. He asked us to prepare a proposal for a potential client. I read the Request For Proposal written by the client and it looked at least like a RM2 million contract. We were all like WOO HOO!!! fat bonus coming!! at the end of the day.. My MD quoted the client RM600K.....aaarrrrggghhh!!!! I feel like a cheap Bangla worker. Well, can complain, at first MD quoted RM300K and we all almost died standing!!! But thanks to the intervention of my lady boss and director, it was raised to RM600K. Well, at least I know I have salary for the next six months.

Think I'll go home early today... feeling a bit under the weather.

My lady boss related to be one funny incident with Hobs when I was away last week.

Hobs walks into the office with a comb of bananas and enters my boss' room.

Hobs to my lady boss: Would you like my bananas for breakfast? (plugs one banana out from the comb and puts it on her table)

Any given day, that quote can be used as sexual harrasment sued. I wonder does the dude ever think before he speaks or am I the screwed up one.

Work this last few days has really been a drag. I can't seem to stay awake after 2pm. It's not the after lunch effect it's really I loose focus and all brain power after 2pm. Like today, if I hadn't sleep for 1/2 hour after lunch... I'll probably just collapse in the middle of somewhere. How I wish I can be like Scott Lim, on a holiday straight after the conference.

My parents are off to South Africa, how I wish I can follow them .

Lastly for today's blog, I know it's short but I'm really not in the mood. For those who know and gunning for me for the Malaysian Idol. Well sorry to say that I chicken out. I don't think I can pull off a William Hung as I thought I could neither can I pull off a Fantasia Barrino... so what happens to those in stuck in the middle?? Go figure!!! Guess I just don't want to do something which I know I'll not make it and also I can't imagine lining up from 9am - 5pm wondering when's it going to be my turn. Besides, don't know what song to sing and no time to prepare. But bottomline is, I'm scared and decide to chicken out. Hey!! I get some credit for being honest here right???

I think I'll be happy playing the bass for her reverie even if it means the bassist gets no recognition at all. At least I'm happy and don't make a full out of myself.... but than again??? what happens if I get fever just before a show again??

On a side note, her reverie have sold 100 CDs in less than 2 days.. Aw-right!!! we just produced our 2nd 100 so all who are interested to waste some money can come support us and buy our CD... only RM8. If you buy more than 30 CDs at one go, you get to go out dinner with our lead singer Sue 1 on 1 (if you're a guy) and girls if you buy 30 at one go, you get to go 1 on 1 dinner with guitar maestro Justin Fungky Lim. And if any of you guys buy more than 100 at one go, you get to go out 1 on 1 with Miss CD cover girl. Promotion while stocks last. Oh, did I say that you're paying for the dinners yourself?? And the whoever earns to go out with CD cover girl... she demands nothing less than a lobster dinner... RIGHT Miss CD cover girl????

Do I sense a surge in CD sales coming??? I also sense some hands slapping me soon.

How I wish there were this sort of contest to go out with Kristin Kreuk

This blog turned out quite long also..........................
